Description

I wanted to express the feeling of pure joy, happiness and hope, with this picture. The unicorn flowing through the valley, the butterflies and the dove by its side, the distant blue sea and the puffy clouds spreading over the sky. I tried to create all these elements in the most positive way I could. If you feel any of these things when looking at this piece, I'm satisfied.

Absolutely gorgeous, the one thing that does bug me is that the right hand side of his face seems 'wrong'?

nicely done, although its better if you turn down the chroma in the shadow parts of the picture... also in the background the water looks to intense blue, mix it a little with grey, so the chroma drops...

Those clouds look perfect!!

The clouds and bird are fantastic, but I have to agree with Indranizia on the face, it looks weird :(

Still max though!

nice done...
I am not sure about the shadow on the Unicorn's stomac only...
the light seems to fall from left and the shadow it not quite right placed... imho

hey like that background pretty much !
about the right site of that face, it is the eye, which seems wrong. if you are looking into the front of a horse head the eye isn't so high ...

Excellent work! Those clouds are really incredible!
But is it just me, or does the head of the Uni seem a tad small?

And I agree about the face of the Uni;
the eyes seem a bit off. Th elonger you look at it, the
stranger they become.

But those are the only 2 tiny things i can find. 5/7 ;)

I agree with the comments on the face, but I like the picture overall, especially the subtle colours you have used and the texture of the grass.

OH WOW, how absolutely awesome! Your colors are amazing! They're light but not without strength, I love this motion of this piece.

Your unicorn has some anatomy and lighting problems. The head, specifically, is misshapen. The shadow on the stomach shouldn't be there based on the placement of your other shadows. Also, the background is way too saturated. As a result, the painting looks flat. Desaturate the far valley some and the clouds ALOT, and this painting will take on a much more realistic character.

On the positive side, I really like the concept and the color scheme. You've got talent.

The shadow on the stomach can stay, but it just needs to be concave instead of convex, to follow the rounded shape of the unicorn's stomach. The left hind leg could have stood more shadowing on the inside where the right leg blocked the light source, imho... And there seems to be an odd dent above the tail that could be smoothed out just a bit =\

Also, is it just me, or do the withers look extremely lumpy? It's like there's an extra hump there, and one of the two is placed too far up on the neck... the back looks far too thick and lumpy and should be hollowed out a bit. That right hock looks striped; the tendons appear to be a bit misplaced. Sorry to nag, but I'm a horse person ^.~

I also think the horn could have been placed just a *tad* lower on the forehead...... but other than that, it's good. I looovvve the background and the dove. The sky is absolutely perfect... *steals it*

I love the vibrancy of colour and the tones you used in the sky! It really gives a "all's right in the world" feel.the detail on the unicorn and the bird is superb though I think the unicorn's tail looks a tad bit unnatural. but the lighting and colours you used on both is really wonderful! Hope to see more from you soon^^
