Description
My weight is on your shoulders. My life is in your hands, and without you I would fall. Without you I would never make it, and there will never be any other chance for me except the chance there is in you. I’m leaning on you, in my mind. Sometimes I wonder; will you let me rest here? I’ve never asked you that. Can you bear the burden?---
It was a long time since I last completed a real digital painting. I have very little time to paint nowadays, and I’m having an awful lot of trouble completing the few works I start. This one actually started just as a quick thing to get my mind off from another painting that I’ve been working on for more than a year. Anyway, I decided to publish this one now, to get rid of it and be able to start working on that other one again. So what do you think?
Take a look at the larger version for some more details. (I could upload detail pictures too if somebody wants it)

and lighting...since her forehead is so powerfully lighted, some of the hair above it should be too
but the rest(idea, execution, technique) are just right

It's kind of a fish-eyed look. Follow the link, you'll see.
Aside from that one foible--which I didn't mind too much--I think this is extremely well done. The style and lighting is very nice. It actually reminds me of the dramatic lighting and colors of the post-renaissance artists.
There are so many really nice touches: the lips are full and voluminous, if not a little chapped in appearance. The 'good eye' is so direct and confrontational--extremely well rendered. You've done a wonderful job with the hand on the shoulder as well.
As for content, it's an interesting piece. I don't really know the story behind it, but it's intriguing.
One small thing... How can you be from Sweden and not know Jan Vermeer??
Do a little research on your region's artistic ancestors. You'll be glad you did. Wonderful work to be seen!

and I didn't know Vermeer was from Sweden, I thaught he was from Holland, thanks to pointing this

Vermeer is, indeed, Dutch...but the countries are so close! They fall into the same geographic region. For instance, I live in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., though it covers more than a few states. <-- I just re-read that and have no idea what that's supposed to mean
